Her Man.

Their Hero.

His Pain.

What happens when you pray for death and you’re ignored?

You have to live.

You have to survive.

But what if the last thing you want is to take your next breath?

To the world, Ryan is a hero, an ex-marine, brother, son and protector. He has devoted his life to keeping others safe. He will do anything and everything to ensure his loved ones are protected, even if that means destroying his very own soul. After an explosion on the battlefield ends his career in the Marine’s, Ryan is sent home with an honorable discharge. But the war hasn’t ended for him.

He is home, he is free and he’s breathing, but he’s dead inside.

He wants nothing more than peace, but the nightmares in his mind will not grant him that. They taunt him, tease him and torture his waking moments. The darkness within him is slowly consuming him, blackness has seeped into his veins and is rotting his core. Ryan is a man on the edge of destruction. For once he is the one in need of saving. He needs a saviour.

He needs her.

Ryan is commissioned as a bodyguard to Aloura Cavendish. When he initially meets her, he believes her to be a spoiled rich brat, wasting his time. But the fire inside her astounds him. When he pushes, he never expects her to push back. When he runs, she chases. For the first time in his life, Ryan has a protector willing to fight his demons. The only problem – he is too afraid to release them.

My Review

I really enjoyed this story and I was hooked throughout it.

This was my first Ada Frost books and it certainly won't be the last.

This story is about Ryan and Aloura. Ryan has been assigned as Aloura's bodyguard after her father has received death threats towards his daughter. Ryan clearly has had a traumatic childhood and past and when he arrives he just sees Aloura as daddy's little princess, well that is until he realizes that Aloura is not afraid to fight back.  They do strike up a friendship whilst Ryan try's to keep Aloura safe but at the same time he often tries to push her away. Aloura not only see's a broken man but beautiful who needs to let go on some of his demons and let someone in. Ryan believes he is not worth Aloura love however Aloura lets Ryan open up in his own time but also whilst knocking down his defenses.

All whilst this is going on someone out that is still after Aloura, the author does a really good job of places little clues that keep you guessing who it could me. This books has a little bit of everything, there were some fun bits that made me laugh out loud, some heartbreaking moments, some omg moments, hot sexy moments and lots of suspense. I loved both Ryan and Aloura characters and the secondary characters were great. I really want to read their stories as although we got a little snippet of them in this book I still want more.

The story is told from duel POV and at times reading Ryan's it was heart breaking. Ryan has some many scars and I loved to see his character grow throughout the book. I would highly recommend this book not only fans of romance read but also those who like a little suspense and drama. Once I started this one I did'nt want to put it down. I loved it.

Hi! What to say about myself...I don't really have anything interesting to offer other than I love to read, and create stories for others to enjoy. I've always been told I have a vivid imagination, I just lacked the confidence to pursue putting it onto the the written page. But finally I embarked on making a single dream come true.

I love to read, and write. I only read romance, any genre really, but it has to have a beautiful romance. I also demand a HEA, even if it takes two or three books to get there. Reality is too broken and jaded without having to live through the trauma and angst in a book for it to end unhappily.

THE GIRL'S GOT SECRETS
Forbidden Men #7
Linda Kage
Releasing Nov 28th, 2015
Self-Published

Here’s the same old “girl posing as a boy” story but with a rock-n-roll twist.

Remy Curran dreams of one day being in a band, except the group she wants to join refuses to hire a girl drummer. So, she auditions as a guy...and makes the cut.

Becoming “Sticks,” a member of Non-Castrato, isn’t quite what she dreamed it would be, though. She spends most of her time keeping up the subterfuge and learning how to walk, talk, act, and drink like a man.

But what’s even harder to deal with is acting oblivious when the band’s heartthrob lead singer, Asher Hart, treats her like one of the guys and not a woman. She never imagined he’d be so much more than a pretty face with a nice voice. But he’s better than perfect. He’s perfect for her.

When love and lies combine, Remy must keep up the act or lose everything. But who knew lying to reach one dream could prevent you from attaining an even bigger dream?

My Review

This is Asher's story in the series.

Remy really wants to join Asher's band Non-Castrato. However when she auditions she is automatically dismissed by another band member. However her best friend comes up with idea to dress Remy as a man and then have her audition. Therefore dressed as a man she auditions and wow's the band she offered a place in the band. Therefore Remy becomes 'Sticks'. It was only meant to be for one gig and then she would reveal the truth however something always comes up that stop Remy from revealing herself. 'Sticks' and Asher strike up a friendship in the band and Asher confines in sticks especially in his search for the perfect women who he spotted a few weeks ago in the bar. What will happen when Remy reveal's the truth?

For me I found the middle section dragged a little bit, I felt that the Stick's section dragged a little and I kept wanting him to reveal himself. I wanted more from Asher and Remy not Asher and 'Sticks'. There were serveal points where I felt that Asher didn't question more about 'Sticks' especially when he/ she said they wore a mask!!! The book is told from duel POV and although it is book 6 in the series it can be read as a standalone. It was great to see the other characters from the other books. Whilst this wasn't my favorite in the series I still enjoyed it and I am sure Linda Kage fans will love it.

Interview with Author

How or where does linda find inspiration for the men in her books?

For me, inspiration comes from EVERYWHERE: real life experiences, things that I’ve heard about happening to other people, things I’ve read it other books or seen on movies or shows, things I overhear people talking about to other people, just...everywhere. I’ll pick and choose those little things from all over and bring them together to form something that’s a bit different but also similar, be it realistic, or far-fetched...I just like to have fun with it and try to bring out the feels!

- If you had to choose one favourite couple from the forbidden series who would it be?

I think my favorite couple is Zoey and Quinn. I like how shy and introverted and selfless they are. I know lots of people think they were all weak and stupid for letting others use them, but I really admired their quiet courage for always staying true to themselves and staying kind and selfless no matter what others thought or did to them!  They always put others above themselves, which takes a kind of strength that gives them a bad name in society because they didn’t always stand up for themselves and that was something others looked down on them for instead of admired them for.  But it’s exactly what I loved most about them; how they took a licking and remained themselves at the core. And also the connection they had with each other was just...happy sigh.  I don’t know why I liked them together so much. I just did!

- If you could sum up the new book in one song what would it be?

Hmm, there are just so many songs out there, I can’t help but think one I’ve yet to hear would be the one to best sum up The Girl’s Got Secrets. Until I hear THAT song, though, I’ll say that one off the movie City of Angels—“Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls—is my pick, because Remy, my heroine, wants Asher, the hero, to know who she is but her own lies have prevented that. So it’s torture for her the more she gets to know him and fall for him and really connect with him, just one person to another.

- The book is call the Girl's got a secret can you share a secret of yours (maybe a future release)?

A secret of my own, you say?  About future books?  Well, I don’t know if this is much a secret, but there will only be three more stories in the series after this. Brandt and Sarah’s book will be next, then Colton will get a story, and then we’ll tie up the series by returning to the beginning with a version of book one from Mason’s point of view.  The forbidden aspect in Brandt’s story will be how he doesn’t want to cross the best friend line with Sarah because he’s afraid that being more with her would someone ruin everything and he’d lose her.  Then I was contacted by someone who wanted an inter-racial forbidden romance, so that, among a few other forbidden aspects, will be the main plot of Colton’s story!
